Aluna in the dirt
This is the first of a series of videos I shot starring Aluna, the newest addition to the Baboon troop at the Oakland Zoo in Northern California.
In this video, she is sitting, running, playing and eating in the dirt. Other videos will show her on log piles, and other areas of the baboon habitat.
She and her mother Mocha are quite often hanging out with Mocha's father Martijn, and Mocha's half brother Muiru. It looks like it won't be long before Mocha let's go of Aluna's tail and lets her play with the younger baboons. But for now, they appear to play too rough for Mocha's taste. So she hangs on.
Aluna is Mocha's second child. Her first was Mousa born in November, 2018.
