Childgrove
Melbourne Colonial Dancers danced "Childgrove" in 2022.
This dance is the alternate version with the double figures of 8.
The Dance Instructions are:
CHILDGROVE Playford 11th ed. (1701) 32 Bar Set Tune
Longways duple minor set (now often improper) AABB in 2:2 time
A1 8 Bars: All side with partners (long-siding), back-to-back with partner
A2 8 Bars: Side along the line, back-to-back with neighbour
B1 8 Bars: On sides: 2-hand turn 1 ½ times (skipped, to progress)
Partners 2 hand turn walked once around
B2 8 Bars: 1st couple full fig-of-8 up through 2s above (skipped).
(alt. this can be done as double-fig-8, 2s cast to begin)
