The Nissan X-Trail and Opel Grandland X were paired in our comparison test solely because of their similar prices: 2,440,000 and 2,499,000 rubles, respectively. The Japanese model is all-wheel drive, while the German model is front-wheel drive, but newer. The Grandland X recently arrived in Russia as a reconnaissance vehicle from Opel. It will be interesting to compare the Nissan X-Trail, which has long been adapted for us, with Opel's product under the new Peugeot-Citroën-Opel umbrella.
The Japanese model has everything we're accustomed to – a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 171-horsepower engine and a continuously variable transmission. The German model has a 1.6-liter 150-horsepower turbocharged engine and a classic automatic transmission, which is nice. However, we don't like small turbocharged engines here.

In the end, the Nissan X-Trail won by a narrow margin of one point. The Opel Grandland X proved itself to be a dynamic crossover, well-suited to curb wars. The Japanese model is quite good, especially against its front-wheel-drive competitor. It's still more practical, but it's not without its sportiness.
