A two-part program where June Lee, MD, highlighted what makes a company successful from the perspective of a venture capitalist who was a biotech executive and built a company to a successful exit.

The talk is followed by an interactive briefing on UCSF's acclaimed online class, Global Life Sciences/Healthcare Entrepreneurship Course: Virtual Master Class Direct from Silicon Valley. We outline the content and benefits of this 10 week, part time course for professionals that teaches business concepts for life science/healthcare startups. Taught by Silicon Valley practitioners, not academics, we cover elements of a business plan: assessing if your science/technology can be the basis for a company, business models, building the startup team, intellectual property, FDA, investors and much more.

The Course Director is joined by a recent alum to answer questions from a participant's viewpoint.
