Here I try to get the qualifying time of 1.23.998 using race setup data recently released from Mclaren.
I've modded the VRC car, changed tyres, aero, engine power.
-engine 675HP at 12500RPM
-raised idle to 5000rpm
-used soft tyres, using 1.81dx, dy
-Aero is using about 15 front(0.9CL) , 20 rear(1.1CL)
-CG frontal wheel balance of 0.37
-I dropped the ride height down to 35mm, 60mm compared to race setup of 43mm, 67mm. I suspect they used a lower ride height in qualifying.
I think I solved the riddle to why the gear's were so high in KM/H. It might have something to do with STEP gear ratio in the McLaren data, it raise's the value, which gives it a lower KM/h in the gear's. eg when you convert the gear ratio eg first gear 13/35 you get 2.69, then you times it with the step gear ratio which 1.35 and you get 3.631. The gear value's then look realistic and functional for the track when you do it for all the six gears, expect the final gear.
If you input the gear's without multiplying the step gear, you will only use 3 gear's for the track, which has to be clearly wrong. 3rd gear reach's 250KM
