Metallica's new single off their new album 'Death magnetic. A great song I think, Albums gonna be great!!...Metallica is an American heavy metal band that formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. Founded when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, Metallica's original line-up consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, who later formed Megadeth, and bassist Ron McGovney. These last two were later ejected from the band, in favor of Kirk Hammett and Cliff Burton, respectively. The ejection of Mustaine resulted in a feud between him and Metallica. In September 1986, Metallica's tour bus skidded out of control and flipped, which resulted in Burton being crushed under the bus and killed. Jason Newsted replaced him less than two months later. Newsted left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Robert Trujillo in 2003...Death Magnetic is the upcoming ninth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica. It is scheduled for release on September 12, 2008 by Warner Bros. Records.[3] The album will be the band's first to feature current bassist Robert Trujillo, and the first to be produced by Rick Rubin.[4] Death Magnetic also marks the first time in the band's history in which all band members contributed to each song on an album. It will be their first studio album released through Warner Bros.; although, they still remain with Warner Music Group, which also owns Elektra Records, the band's previous label. Death Magnetic is promoted by the preceding single "The Day That Never Comes," released August 21, 2008.

Starting on May 12, 2008 (2008-05-12), the future album has been heavily promoted on the specially dedicated website, entitled Mission Metallica, which features daily updates of exclusive, behind-the-scenes sneak previews with photos and video clips from the studio.[5] On June 14, 2008 (2008-06-14), the album's official title was announced, followed by the revealing of its cover art on July 17, 2008 (2008-07-17), which depicts a metallic coffin with a black and white design around it (representing iron filings in a magnetic field). The cover also features the original Metallica logo, used on the band's first five albums.."The Day That Never Comes" is described as the most downbeat track on Death Magnetic, and is said to be reminiscent of Metallica's epic breakthrough single "One," which won a Grammy Award in 1990. Like previous ballads and downbeat songs by Metallica, including "One", "Fade to Black", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "The Unforgiven", "Until it Sleeps" and "The Unforgiven II", it is the fourth track of the album. Rock Sound has also compared the song to the likes of Thin Lizzy.[3] The intro starts out with clean guitars that carry into the verses, while the choruses are backed with heavily distorted guitars. The bridge speeds up gradually and eventually leads into fast paced harmony between the guitars and a long guitar solo by Hammett, as per usual, a build-up comparable to that of "One" and "Fade to Black".
