About the Hymnist Martin Luther
Martin Luther is a name you hear a lot when talking about church history, but very rarely do you hear about the contributions he made to church music history. I think that's a BIG mistake.
And here's why!
He was a monk, priest, dissenter, reformer, figurehead of the Lutheran Church, scholar.
He translated the Bible into a language his community could ACTUALLY READ for the first time, he created music that people could actually sing and understand.
His hymns (German Lutheran chorales) have stood the test of time, being hundreds of years old, and we still sing them today.
Learn more about Martin Luther, the great Hymnist in this episode of the series "Hymnist History."
Go in Peace.
