3:27 - Applying the same trick to specific Folders

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Create a Shortcut
1 - Right-click the file or folder you want to pin.
2 - Select Show more options - Create shortcut (or copy the file and select "Paste shortcut" on your desktop).

Step 2: Modify the Shortcut Target
1 - Right-click your new shortcut and select Properties.
2 - In the Shortcut tab, look at the Target field.
3 - Move your cursor to the very beginning of the path and type explorer followed by a space.
Example: If the target was "C:\Docs\Project.pdf", it should now look like explorer "C:\Docs\Project.pdf"
4 - Click Apply. You will notice the icon change to a folder icon.

Step 3: Restore the Icon
1 - In the same Properties window, click the Change Icon button.
2 - You can choose from the default Windows icons or click Browse to use a custom .ico file you’ve downloaded.
3 - Click OK on all windows to save the changes.

Step 4: Pin to Taskbar
1 - Drag your modified shortcut and drop it onto your Taskbar.
2 - You can now delete the shortcut from your desktop; the pinned icon will remain and open your specific file or folder directly!
