Police to give unsolved crime details
Police forces in England and Wales are changing the way they record offences to give a clearer idea about why crimes are not solved.
Currently cases that do not result in a charge or caution are recorded as undetected.
That will be replaced by several new categories like "prosecution prevented", for example, if a suspect is too ill to stand trial.
