Adjustable Sound. If you're interested in being able to change your Mustang's exhaust note on the fly so it can be loud or toned down depending on the situation, this Pypes Electric Exhaust Cutout Kit is something you should check out. The included Y-pipes work with your car's mid-pipe. With the flip of a switch, you can either make your exhaust completely free-flowing and loud, or silence it. This product is compatible with 1979 to 2014 Ford Mustangs that have 2.5-inch or 3-inch exhaust pipes. Durable Construction. This kit comes with dual stainless steel Y-pipes that are 2.5 inches in diameter. The dual cutouts are made of billet aluminum, and are designed to seal tight against the Y-pipes to avoid any leaks at all. There's also a double-butterfly seal and an O-ring for each cutout housing. A built-in thermal protection device is included in the setup to protect the electronics from heat damage. The covers for the controllers are watertight, so the elements won't get in. A limited lifetime warranty form the manufacturer is included. Straightforward Setup. This installation isn't hard, but it is moderately difficult since it requires some mechanical and wiring expertise. A wiring harness is included in the kit, so you can wire up a switch in your car's cabin to change the setting at any time. Plan on this job taking you about four hours to complete.
