(DAY 1) Presentation 4, Matthias Melcher: Kickstarting NewtonScript development
Matthias Melcher describes how to set up a programming environment on a modern Mac to create new software for the Apple Newton using the Einstein emulator and BasiliskII with the Newton Toolkit Installed. He demoes the new network connectivity and talks about the procedure to get everything working between 90s software and present-day operating systems. Although Paul Guyot is the creator of the Einstein–the Newton 2.0 emulator–Matthias Melcher, who is a genius in his own right, has picked up the torch and brought Newton development to new heights through his ongoing development and improvement of the emulator and programming environment.

The Apple Newton was an early tablet computer which is still celebrated by fans today for its unique and personable use of technology, and as remarkably different from a programming viewpoint.
