The Bio Bidet Discovery DLS is the latest offering from market leader Bio Bidet. Aimed at higher-end consumers, this luxury class bidet comes with a robust feature set, combined with a trim and contemporary design. The Discovery DLS includes upgraded functionality not currently available on other Bio Bidet seats, and we’ll go over some of these features and more in this review.
The rear of the bidet has a clean, minimalistic look and you can see the Bio Bidet logo centered across the rear. The lid completely covers the toilet seat underneath, providing a more seamless look as it blends in with the rest of the toilet. Underneath the lid, the seat of the Discovery DLS has less slope back-to-front than most other bidets due to its lower profile.
It also features a surprisingly wide seat given its low-profile design. Measuring almost 15 inches wide, the width of the Discovery DLS is very similar to the Bio Bidet BB 2000, and is one of the widest bidet seats available today.
Speaking of the BB 2000, you can see the Discovery DLS sits about an inch flatter on the toilet in comparison. And here’s a side profile of the Bio Bidet BB 2000… so you can compare with the Discovery DLS. While we’re on this frame, note how the electric cord extends from this side of the unit. Also on this side just in front of the power cord is a quick release button which unlatches the bidet from the mounting bracket for easy removal.
On the other side we’ve hooked up the hoses so you can see what the bidet looks like when fully installed. The water inlet on the bidet swivels back and forth, but we have it pointing straight down here. Next to the water inlet there is a “Power” button and an “Auto” button, which lets you activate an automatic wash and dry cycle without the remote control.
The remote control for the Bio Bidet Discovery DLS has rather large buttons on the front for the primary bidet functions including feminine wash, rear wash, and the air dryer. You’ll also find a “Stop” button and an “Auto” button on the front side as well.
On top of the remote there are buttons to control the automatic opening seat and lid. Adjustment controls can be found on the back side of the remote, where you can adjust nozzle position, water pressure, temperature and other settings.
The bidet is powered by a stainless steel nozzle, with two different spray ports at the tip of the nozzle. First we’ll demonstrate the rear wash. Note how the nozzle oscillates by default, which provides greater coverage.
Now we’ll activate the feminine wash which utilizes the lower spray port down below. Here, we’re adjusting the nozzle more backwards, and then we’ll adjust it more forward, which lets you fine tune the washing area. The bidet also has an advanced UV nozzle sterilization feature, which occurs automatically every time the nozzle retracts into the seat.
The bidet also comes equipped with a built-in air dryer. We found the Discovery DLS provides a stronger stream of air when compared to previous Bio Bidet models.
Another upgrade on this model, is the automatic opening seat and lid. As the first seat from Bio Bidet to have this feature, it’s really convenient to have, and helps drive a hands-free toileting experience.
And here’s a view of the in-bowl night light which illuminates the toilet bowl with a soft white glow.
With such a robust feature-set packed into a trim and contemporary-looking package, the Bio Bidet Discovery DLS is going to be on a lot of people’s short-lists, and it should be on yours as well. And when you consider the unprecedented five-year warranty which comes included, you can have confidence in knowing you’ll be enjoying your Discovery DLS for years to come.
