Bisou Restaurant, Dubai | Expolight
We are finally able to show you our new project, which we had the pleasure of working on together with a Cape Town-based architectural firm led by renowned international architect Tristan Du Plessis Studio.
This is the Bisou restaurant with modern French Middle Eastern cuisine. The restaurant is located near the famous Opera Plaza, is already successfully operating and has become a popular location in Dubai.
By the way, the word ‘Bisou’ means ‘kiss’ in French 💋. This is an affectionate word that is often used to greet or say goodbye to loved ones. And we are very pleased to add a piece of our love for light, make this space even more cosy and emphasise the significance of the place
with its original and unusual cuisine.
We use architectural light to emphasise the interior design and bring out the tactility and its elements. On the ground floor, we worked on the hierarchy of elements, where the main star is the decorative pendant lights. The colours change gently throughout the day in terms of temperature and shades, turning them into fresh flowers that bloom in the air.
We also accentuate the bar area with warm, hidden lighting to draw guests' attention to the fascinating process of creating exclusive dishes. The large staircase leading to the second floor is also highlighted with light with different scenarios that change in sync with the rest of the space.
The interior is always transforming throughout the day thanks to the lighting scenarios that we program and automate with our Expolight Cloud Control System. The light changes gently and imperceptibly, just like in nature, in the morning, afternoon and evening.
Coloured media accents add to the variety of moods.
On the second floor, in addition to accent and hidden lighting, we use plant lighting and media scenarios for the key element - the chandelier. We also had the opportunity to work with a sculpture by the extremely talented Israeli artist Nimrod Messeg, who discovered the subtle and graceful beauty of metal. He creates incredible openwork forged works, and with our light, the sculpture turned into a unique installation that will now decorate one of the top central restaurants in Dubai.
