1:22 BUPREX MIGRA.
Ibuprofen 400 mg + caffeine 100 mg + ergotamine 1 mg.
Ibuprofen: nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, blocks prostaglandin synthesis.
Caffeine: vasoconstrictor.
Ergotamine 1 mg. Vasoconstrictor.
2:10 MAIN INDICATIONS: tension headache,
migraine with aura and
migraine without aura,
headache due to physical activity,
stress headache
good response in headaches with vasodilation.
2:27 DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
One to two tablets 3 to 4 times a day during a migraine attack for up to two days.
2:45 CONTRAINDICATIONS.
Hypersensitivity to the product's components or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Ergotamine and caffeine may have contraindications for some people, such as: hypertension, stroke, and MI.
Children.
Pregnant women: preeclampsia and eclampsia.
3:40 DRUG AND OTHER INTERACTIONS:
Fluconazole, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and contraceptives may induce caffeine toxicity.
4:00 SIDE EFFECTS AND ADVERSE REACTIONS
Gastrointestinal: Nausea, epigastric burning, flatulence, and dyspeptic syndrome.
Thrombocytopenia, rash, vision disturbances, fluid retention, and edema.
Fluconazole, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and contraceptives can induce caffeine toxicity.
In patients with liver disease, coadministration of caffeine and theophylline can induce liver toxicity, etc.
Cardiovascular: increased hypertension, chest pain, palpitations, etc.
