Samuel L Jackson and Nick Fury's Design
Nick Fury wasn't always modelled after Samuel L. Jackson! In the comics before the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the character had a different appearance. But when Jackson himself noticed the uncanny resemblance, he lobbied hard to play Fury in the films. His persistence paid off, and the look was solidified. Now, it's hard to imagine anyone else embodying the iconic eyepatch-wearing S.H.I.E.L.D. director with such cool authority.
