Our Second Soap Donation | Unidos
Thank you once again for all of your soap orders! We are continuing our promise and showing you exactly where your donation is going. This week's donation is to Unidos.
Unidos is a faith-based non-profit working to strengthen under-resourced neighborhoods. Many children in these neighborhoods are significantly behind in their academic progress, which sets them on a risky path for their future. Unidos provides homework help and tutoring by an accredited teacher. With limited expendable income, families in these neighborhoods lack access to extra-curricular activities that have a proven connection to academic performance, expanding children’s potential and exposing them to new skills. Through partnerships and volunteers, Unidos offer students periodic workshops, music classes, dance classes, day trips and week-long summer day camps in the areas of sports, faith and the arts.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, many low-income households are struggling to provide food for their families. Unidos is joining forces with neighborhood leaders to create food and family packages to ensure needs are met.
