People talk a lot about "Science" and who is on the side of science and who is not. These "conversations" often involve a lot of assertions, accusations and hubris.
A more productive approach is to integrate science, math and the Socratic Method. These can be complex topics and there is a lot of data to sort through! Not all data is created equal. Some data is more reliable than others.
The key is to have an open, patient process where diverse perspectives are welcomed and there is a Socratic process of probing and asking questions.
We also have to deal with the reality of potential "conflicts of interest".
When there are high profile "experts" who make assertions, they should provide the information and the basis of their conclusions. We should also consider the viewpoints of opposing experts and ask probing questions before drawing a conclusion.
