From grams to tonnes: three Swedish initiatives on circular production and electric efficiency

Sometimes the missing link is an intermediate step between research and industry, the kg step between grams and tonnes. The transition to resource and energy efficiency may be approached through collaboration in EU financed regional projects. The side event presented three of the projects that ClimateSync coordinates. We discussed different aspects of resource and energy efficiency and present two projects that support circular innovation in materials as well as a third focusing on energy efficiency in the pulp and paper industry. All encompass collaboration between the research society and industry. The event was summed up by looking into what is needed to scale up these initiatives.
ClimateSync is a national collaboration on energy and climate funded by the European Commission, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and the Swedish Energy Agency. The purpose of ClimateSync is to achieve synergies, to avoid overlaps, enhance learning, cooperation and coordination between regions and between the regional and national level on energy and climate related work.
