We worked with TetraTech to design this leachate pump station for an ADSCO Landfill in Asper, PA. Leachate can be some of the harshest and most damaging liquids, regularly containing high levels of organic and inorganic contaminants, including heavy metals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This liquid is often highly toxic and corrosive and poses a risk to the environment. This is part of the reason high-density polyethylene (HDPE) was chosen for the wet well as it has a 100-year design life without the need for any added coatings. Additionally, the 5 ft. diameter by 13 ft. deep wet well was prefabricated and helped John and AWT Environmental Services Inc. with the faster onsite installation times.
