In a constant-pressure calorimetry experiment, 1.50 L of 1.25 M Ba(NO3)2 at 24.2 °C is mixed with 1.50 L of 1.25 M Na2SO4, also at 24.2 °C. A white solid (BaSO4) forms and the temperature rises to 27.9 °C. Assume that the specific heat of the resulting solution is 4.18 J/(g °C) and that its density is 1.00 g/mL. Also, assume that the calorimeter itself absorbs a negligible amount of heat. Calculate ΔH and ΔE (both in kJ per mole of BaSO4) for this experiment.
