Women who do informal work make up a significant portion of the national GDP of India. They often work from home. Their ability to support their families is threatened by intense heat and flooding caused by climate change. Mahila Housing Trust (MHT) empowers women home-based workers to advocate for themselves, and improve their living and working conditions.
This story features interviews with Dipika Malik and Bhanuben Dineshbhai Solanki, who live in Bhagwatinagar, an informal community in the heart of Ahmedabad, Hasit Ganatra, inventor of ModRoof, and Aprajita Sing from MHT.
