For this university group project we had to automatically assemble a specified chassis using a robotic system.
The robotic system had to consist of one or more robots.
• The design did not need to consider the gripping mechanism required for each component.
• The robotic system approaches each component from above and along the normal to its plane.
• The robot should include the joint required to screw the bolt.
• We could make our own assumptions for any data not provided.
This is the fourth and final video which our group made. It contains all colours, textures, lighting, animated cameras and the work space envelope used by the robot. Note that the workspace envelope continues to show the boundaries even after it has faded out of view. This is to help show that the tool tip will never leave the shadowed boundaries.
The video was created using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2014 (Student Version).
All physical aspects of the robot were created in Inventor by Cameron Hickling.
The colours/textures, lighting and camera animation were done by myself.
Hope this video is an inspiration to any future students wanting to study robotics.
