Efficient aerial photography allows you to see what the human eye cannot see. That's why the Mavic 3 Multispectral is equipped with two cameras. It combines an RGB camera and a multispectral camera to track and analyze crop growth with maximum image clarity. Data accuracy and availability are two prerequisites for efficient agricultural production. The Mavic 3M addresses both.
A built-in sunlight sensor measures solar radiation intensity and stores it in the image file, allowing for illumination compensation when recording image data during 2D reconstruction. This ensures higher accuracy of NDVI results and improves the accuracy and consistency of data acquired over time.
The Mavic 3M features an RTK module for centimeter-level positioning. Flight control, camera operation, and the RTK module are synchronized at the microsecond level to precisely locate the image processing center of each camera. This allows the Mavic 3M to perform high-precision aerial surveys without the use of ground control points.

Orchard Mapping. The Mavic 3M enables aerial surveys of orchards in terrain-following mode, even on steep terrain. Using the DJI Terra or DJI SmartFarm[6] platforms, it can reconstruct high-resolution orchard maps, automatically detect the number of trees, distinguish orchard trees from other obstacles or objects, and create 3D flight routes for agricultural drones, making their operations safer and more efficient.
Applications requiring variable speed operation. The Mavic 3M is used to obtain multispectral images of agricultural crops, for spraying fertilizer in fields, and for monitoring plant growth. The DJI Terra or DJI SmartFarm [6] platforms also generate maps with NDVI data and other vegetation indicators, recording yield differences and creating spray maps for variable-rate spraying using agricultural drones. This approach helps reduce costs, increase yields, and protect the environment.
Intelligent field monitoring solution. The Mavic 3M enables automated field monitoring. Field images can be uploaded to the DJI SmartFarm [6] platform in real time over a 4G network. This enables the timely detection of deviations from the norm, such as declining germination, weed growth, and lodging of agricultural crops. Additionally, this platform can perform intelligent analysis for cotton seedling recognition and rice yield assessment, using AI-enabled identification tools to share real-time crop growth information, organize agricultural processes, and easily manage 70-hectare farmland by a single person.
Environmental monitoring and natural resource management. The 3M Mavic can also be used for environmental and natural resource surveys, such as water enrichment monitoring, forest distribution studies, urban green space studies, and much more.
