A site icon (favicon) will give your WordPress website a more professional look and can also improve your brand awareness!
A WordPress site icon is better than the traditional favicon.ico that you'll find as an option in most themes, because the site icon will cover different sizes needed for different platforms (browsers, devices, OS).
Adding a site icon in WordPress is very easy! All you have to do is to:
1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Go to Appearance - Customize.
3. Select Site Identity.
4. Under Site Icon, click on the Select Image button.
5. Upload your site icon and click the Select button.
6. Click the Publish button at the top for the changes to take effect.
