They say all the kings in fairy tales
Must wear crowns with fancy jewels.
But when my king goes out to work,
Only a small cap He wears, with a jaunty perk.
They say kings in fairy tales have countless servants;
They can go anywhere that are pleasant.
But my king has to work so hard,
For all Thai people with all His heart.
They say kings in fairy tales sit on high thrones,
In tall castles, with gowns beautifully sewn.
But my king walks on grass;
And that, His throne, is just an open yard.
They say kings in fairy tales come down from heaven.
And I know this is true
Because my king is just like the angel presence.
If you know Him, you’ll say this too.
He teaches us to be “sufficient”, to do only good deeds.
For seventy years, He has planted his seeds.
But now heaven sends us a message
That it is time for Him to rest.
May our voices reach Him in heaven.
Let Him know our love for Him will never lessen;
We will do good deeds, as He teaches,
So that He may now rest in peace.
