Murray Cod Fishing Copeton Dam, New Moon.
Our Murray Cod fishing trip to Copeton Dam was meant to be a quick morning session before heading home. But as the sun rose and the fish started biting, we knew we couldn't leave. The morning action was so hot, we decided to extend our stay and see what the arvo and following day would bring. Turns out, it was the best decision we made!
We timed this trip perfectly, capitalising on the prime moon phase and seasonal changes that trigger these monster Murray Cod to feed. While our initial concern was arriving too early, we were met with ideal conditions for some serious trophy hunting. We experimented with a variety of Murray Cod lures, but one lure in particular consistently delivered the goods, helping us land some truly massive fish.
