How Do Elephants Sleep?
Elephants are known for their size and strength, but they also need rest. Just like humans, elephants need sleep to rest and recharge. Elephants can sleep standing up or lying down.
When they are standing, they will rest their trunk on the ground and lean against a tree or other structure to provide support. When they are lying down, they will often lie on their side with their trunk resting on their front legs or curled up against their body.
Elephants usually sleep for two to four hours at a time and will usually take several short naps throughout the day.
