This was the first time I loaded a canoe to camp 3 hours down the river in the middle of the wilderness and it was AMAZING!! Here are some tips to help you prepare for a trip like this:
pack as light as possible, share a camp list so you and your group do not take unnecessary duplicate items for all to use.
Secure all items in waterproof bags, containers or put them in large contractor bags.
Bug lamp
Shovel - Your porcelain god will not be anywhere near you, be one with nature, dig a hole and squat ;)
easy set up hammock to nap and chill, you will thank me
2 gallon waters with spout
paint buckets to secure sleeping bags then reuse as seats and/or dish washing tubs
Canoe seats will save your back, Kings Landing does not provide or rent these
Freeze all items - meats, water etc with large bag of ice in a high performance cooler
Rope & clothes pins to dry clothing
I think the rest you know since many reading this are already campers ;) Enjoy the peace, serenity & nature while getting off the grid!
