Can We Make This 1950s HO Train Collection Run After 40 Years?
A few months ago I was at Larkspur line train store and the shop's owner offered me this collection of model trains which had been donated to the store a few weeks prior.
Everything seemed to be intact however not in working order so I decided to bring them home and see if they would be fixable. After opening the motors on both locomotives I was surprised to see both were missing their brushes and springs.
It took many hours to find parts similar enough to the originals to even make the motors turn over for the first time in decades. The track and controllers needed some effort as well but I am overall pleased with the results.
