A fun loving trio of New England singing cowpokes, Back in the Saddle Again, takes you back to the Western range for some of the best times this side of the Pecos. The group consists of “Cowboy Carl” Henry, acoustic guitar and harmonica; sidekick “Gabby” (Gary) Gidman, acoustic guitar; and features “Fiddlin’ Slim Coxx” on fiddle. They combine their extensive and varied backgrounds to bring you a broad range of Western, Country, Bluegrass and traditional favorites.
“Gabby” (Gary) Gidman is renowned for his performances, since 1973 as lead guitarist and lead vocalist for the popular rock group, “Tirebiter”. He also performs as a soloist and in several other musical troupes.
Singer /songwriter/vocalist “Cowboy Carl” Henry has been a professional entertainer since 1966, appearing with a wide variety of groups in countless venues. He has released five albums of original music for “Reel Dreams Records”.
The legendary Slim Coxx, was 82 years young! on this recording, was quite the remarkable entertainer. From 1947 to 1951, he played with the “Down Homers” who had a daily (!) live (!) 6 am (!), coast to coast (230 stations!), NBC radio show which originated on WTIC am, Hartford, CT. This show aired for 5 years! They toured New England on the weekends in their big Packard station wagon, with the bass fiddle strapped to the roof. Their rhythm guitarist was Bill Haley, later leader of the Comets. Slim later started his own very popular band, “Slim Coxx and the Cowboy Caravan”. He must hold the world’s record for the longest regular gig when he hosted Sunday nights at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT for 38 years and never missed a gig! As the house band, they backed up innumerable National acts during that period.
