[ATM7/9] Refined Storage - Basic setup in 80 seconds
Terrible tutorial on how2refinedstorage, put together in less than an hour (lol)
For a basic setup, you will need:
Powah Solar Panel (Starter is fine for small setups)
Refined Storage:
- Crafting Grid
- Disk Drive
- Controller
- 1k / 4k Disk (depending on how much stuff you've got)
Mekanism Basic Energy Cube
I specify in the video about connecting the Battery to the Controller, because if the Controller doesn't directly get the power source, it won't work.
However, the Crafting Grid, Disk Drive - whatever else you connect to it - can transfer both data and power through the blocks themselves, so you can hide both the Disk Drive and Controller under the floor/in a wall if you want, and just have the Crafting Grid be the only thing visible.
Other things to note:
The more stuff you have connected & the more Disks you have inserted, the higher the power usage, so you'll eventually need to upgrade the Solar Panel and Energy Cube to keep up (or create a better power setup)
There is an additional mod in both ATM7 and ATM9 (probably other ATM packs too, but I haven't played those) that adds even bigger Disks (256k up to 1billion) if you really need more storage but can't afford the space.
There are other blocks in RF2 (like Importers/Exporters, Disk Manipulators etc.) that aren't mentioned in this video, because this is just a quick 'how to make a super basic setup to get a bunch of storage space' video that half of my friends could use
