International Convention against Cybercrime
Recently, the United Nations Special Committee adopted the Convention on Combating the Use of Information and Communication Technologies for Criminal Purposes. However, the adopted text contains several points of concern regarding human rights and the security of each State.
I discussed its proposals and problems with Lisandra Novo.
Lisandra Novo is an attorney with the Atlantic Council's Strategic Litigation Project, where she focuses on accountability for human rights violations and the intersection of law and technology. Previously, she was a judicial fellow at the International Court of Justice and a visiting scholar at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. She was also a Fulbright scholar in Spain and has worked on civil litigation in the United States concerning serious human rights violations committed abroad. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her Master of Laws in Law and Technology in Europe from Utrecht University.
