4017 Baby-16 Sequencer Concept With Diode Logic
Somewhat of a low effort video this time. I hated how people would suggest to use a dedicated expensive logic IC to do something silly as an AND gate. Luckily theres way cheaper diode logic.
I implement that here to cascade two CD4017 decade counters which creates 16 independent sequencer steps. The AND gate consists of a resistor to VCC and two diodes.
I have not yet verified if this works on breadboard, but it would be a no nonsense way to break away from the usual 8 step 4017 sequencer into a 16 step sequencer.
I hope people find some use in this design for their own DIY projects. But also if I may have made a mistake or there is an even simpler way, please let me know!
