New Delhi - The All India Fair Price Shop Dealer Federation has called the Central Government's approval to implement the PMGKAY Scheme 2023 under the NFSA 2013 "free of cost" from January 2023 a sham. It said the government has withdrawn the free supply of 5 kg of grain under the PMGKAY under the NFSA 2013. They said the new scheme will cost the Central Government an additional subsidy of ₹2 lakh crore in the current year 2023. This is nothing more than a ruse to fool beneficiaries, as the Central Government is actually moving away from the PMGKAY scheme and supplying the same amount of grain under the NFSA.
