A video on how to properly trim a cat's claws:
A cat's claws have two clearly distinguishable zones: the pink zone and the clear zone. Trim only the clear zone, and the type of clippers is not critical. There are scissors, guillotine clippers, or tweezers. It doesn't matter. The movement should be quick and precise. Talk to the animal, distract it, and don't hold it with all your strength—the less stress, the better.

The pink zone of the claw contains blood vessels and nerves. Touching this area will cause pain and bleeding.

If you accidentally injure the blood vessels, don't worry. You can apply dry potassium permanganate, a special powder, or simply leave them as is. Bleeding will stop on their own within 3-5 minutes.
