Empathy is a person's ability to read, recognize, and identify the emotions of others; to recognize someone else's pain, joy, sadness, sorrow, fear, etc., to read emotions and states.
Empathy is not the same as sympathy, compassion, or empathy.
Narcissists and psychopaths have what is called "COLD EMPATHY."
Cold Empathy is a cognitive-analytical empathy. Or intellectual empathy. That is, it is simply an informational element, at the intellectual level. Not at the level of feelings. Through observation, comparison, logic, thinking, and analysis, but not through sensations and feelings.
