One of the most dominating heavyweights in boxing history, Tyson emits an aura of invincibility that few have approached even before or since. Trained by the great Cus D'Amato, Tyson won the WBC Heavyweight Champion in 1986 at age 20, the youngest heavyweight titlist in history. He quickly became the undisputed champion and ruled the heavyweight division for years. Tyson is considered one of the most famous athletes in American history.
Always a fan of WWE, Tyson longed for a chance mix it up with the Superstars he watched on TV. He got his chance at WrestleMania XIV, where he served as the "special enforcer" for the WWE Championship Match between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. A member of D-Generation X in the buildup to the match, Tyson reversed course and counted the pin that gave Stone Cold the title. After the match, he punctuated the evening when he famously knocked out Michaels.
Tyson's involvement in WrestleMania XIV helped WWE score impressive ratings for Monday Night Raw and strong numbers for the pay-per-view itself at a time when the company faced stiff competition from WCW. Tyson's role in WrestleMania XIV is one of the watershed moments critics point to as turning the tide of the "Monday Night Wars" in WWE's favor.
