In lines where White plays b5-b6 against the Benko Gambit it is sometimes possible for Black to sneak in ...a6-a5 and ...Bc8-a6. In doing so, Black strives to have the same effect as in the main "accepted" lines (making White trade light-square bishops on f1 in the event of e2-e4) but without losing a pawn.
