The TAXI industry is still dominated by men. For women to survive it means they have to work twice as hard. And this is what taxi owner Thembi Magubane (50) did. Thembi’s determination and resilience have allowed her to manage multiple taxis while also serving in a leadership role at Benoni Taxi Association. Thembi from Daveyton in Ekurhuleni admits that being a newcomer in the taxi industry had its own challenges.
