Judy Mowatt - Black Woman
The beautiful and Blessed Ms Judy Mowatt, who is most famed as one of the I-Threes in Marley & the Wailers. 'Black Woman' comes from her debut album of the same title released in 1979 (1980 USA), and was inspired as a tribute to the Mothers of past times and became a source of pride and strength to Black women at the time (and still does). The first female reggae artist to produce her own album, it was re-released in 2005.
