Renee, a cheerleader at Newton High, needs to write one more strong piece for a journalism scholarship, but when she starts writing about "outsiders," she is suprized to learn who the true outsiders are at the school. Her boyfriend Bobby isn't too thrilled about all the time she is spending with the "freaks, geeks, and losers" and intends to put an end to it. Based on the short story by Ron Koertge.
