Here's an under 2-min video of Bosnian comedian Miranda Loncar. I met Miranda while performing in the Balkans last summer. We were in Pula, Croatia and decided to tour a Roman arena in the city. While chatting, she shared with me her experiences of being a refugee of the Bosnian War in the mid-1990's. She spoke of her young 6-year old twin daughters and why she named them Iris and Ingrid. Get ready for a punch in the gut. See their photo at the end. Beyond!).
This is what happens when you travel. The world becomes smaller, your heart becomes bigger, more compassionate. "Those people" and "those places" become your people and your places.
Please follow me on IG where I post short MoGoes! videos of these adventures, moments, and off-the-cuff commentary.
