Charlie Palmieri plays MARIA CERVANTES which is an inspiration of the BORICUA composer Noro Morales. In this video you will see some of the members of Machito Orchestra who provide the descarga music. Charlie Palmieri was born in 1927 in New York City. His parents were from Puerto Rico. He died in September 1988. He was a pianist, bandleader, composer, A & R man, producer, soloist, with agility in improvisation. He used to live in the Bronx and studied at the famous Julliard School of Music. He played with Pupi Campo, Xavier Cugat, Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez. He formed the Charanga Duboney around 1959. His brother Eddie Palmieri was born in 1936 in New York City. He is well known for his fiery piano solos. He was the pianist of Tito Rodriguez orchestra. He left Tito to form his well know Conjunto La Perfecta. We dedicate this video to the memory of Charlie. This video was aired on TV in Puerto Rico. We found it by accident and bring it to YOUTUBE viewers so the new generations get educated watching this two genius.
