Create Curtain Wall in FreeCAD BIM
This video provides a comprehensive overview of the Curtain Wall tool in FreeCAD BIM. At the end of the tutorial a practical example of creation of a complete curtain wall including a glass door is shown.
Viewers will learn how to create curtain wall objects, which are used very often in modern architecture. These are typically glass walls in steel frame. They can be used as a facade elements or also as an interior partition elements. Some other uses are Glazed façade, Glass curtain, building envelope, exterior cladding, Transparent façade.
Curtain walls can be created from line draft or sketch objects or from a face objects. Setting up numbers of mullions, either horizontal or vertical, is demonstrated in the video. Changing the size of mullions and their profile shapes is demonstrated. Working with curtain wall materials is also shown in the tutorial. Important part of the workflow is placing glass doors into the curtain wall. In FreeCAD, it is also possible to create curtain walls from organic shapes to capture modern architecture.
