Packing for My Double Mastectomy Surgery
At the end of October 2024 I am getting a DMX because I was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) on August 30, 2024. While only my left breast has cancer I'm choosing to get both removed as preventative care and the lowest possible change of recurrence.
I am 41 years old and am very attached to my breasts. I will be getting tissue expanders put in right away and then in a few months I will be having a DIEP flap surgery for breast reconstruction.
I truly enjoy sharing this journey with my community. I have watched so many others before me and knowing they've come out the other side of this massive life event has helped me so much.
