Materic Table by Piero Lissoni | Porro | Living Art Interiors
The Materic table, created by Piero Lissoni, is a sculpture in which the complexity of the materials and workmanship are contrasted with the design's utmost simplicity.
Materic has a circular and tapering table top that rests on a truncated cone as a base. The table's appearance is altered by an upside-down installation in which the solid ash ordinarily used for the base is now utilised for the top - a dark rough surface interrupted only by the flush tray in the centre. The conical base is expertly crafted from metal, polished brass, or stainless steel, resulting in an outstanding visual impact that straddles the glamour, industrial, and futurist aesthetics.
