2016 Cabling Innovators: Leviton
Cabling Installation & Maintenance's 2nd annual Cabling Innovators Awards presentation was held September 12, 2016 at the BICSI Fall Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, TX. Participants in the program were invited to self-nominate their products, systems, programs or projects. A judging panel comprising industry professionals screened the entries and determined their level of innovation. In total 18 Silver Level Awards, 8 Gold Level Awards, and 4 Platinum Level Awards were distributed.
Leviton was honored with a Gold Level award for its Atlas-X1 structured cabling system. The Atlas-X1 category-rated system is easily scalable for migrations up to 40GBASE-T. It supports simple tool-free termination, and uses the same termination method from Cat 5e to Cat 8. Atlas-X1 systems have been tested and approved for plenum-rated in-ceiling applications, and the Cat 6A system can deliver up to 100-watt Power over Ethernet (PoE).
