Half-Life 2: Overcharged 2.0 (2024) | Walkthrough 7: Intruder Number One
OVERCHARGED 2.0 is a new version of the global modification for Half-Life 2, released publicly on October 11, 2024. More than two years in development since the release of version 1.0, the team has decided to share a completely new version of the Overcharged modification with the community. A number of bug and performance fixes, updated graphical effects and particles, 7 new enemies (Synth Trooper, Synth Crab, Pantherai, Sactic, Desert Scanner, Stukabat, and Schooling Quicksand), reworked balance, and new features (such as NPCs firing an underbarrel grenade launcher, using tactical shields, jumping over obstacles, and much more) are just a few of the new features in version 2.0.
My build greatly transforms the visuals of the OVERCHARGED 2.0 modification. This build aims to add new HD models for most NPCs in the mod, replace some environment textures (combining texture packs from Half-Life 2 HD Enhancement Project 1.6.5 and Project Regeneration), and replace in-game models with versions from two global mods: "Half-Life: Alyx Assets in Half-Life 2" and "Half-Life 2: Remade Assets" by Volkolak. All content for the build was taken from Gamebanana and the Overcharged community Discord.
INSTALLING THE BUILD FOR OVERCHARGED 2.0:

INSTALLATION FOR HALF-LIFE 2 ON STEAM:
1) Download OVERCHARGED 2.0:

2) Unzip. Move the "OVERCHARGED" folder to Steam\steamapps\sourcemods, where you find all other Half-Life 2 mods.
3) Restart Steam and play.
INSTALLATION FOR ANOTHER VERSION OF HALF-LIFE 2:
1) Download OVERCHARGED 2.0:

2) Unzip. Move the "OVERCHARGED" folder to your Half-Life 2 folder. This directory should also contain folders such as hl2, episodic, ep2, lostcoast, and, most importantly, the hl2.exe file.
3) Create a text document. Open it using Notepad++ or Notepad. Type the following line:
hl2.exe -game OVERCHARGED
Save as a .bat file or change the document's extension from .txt to .bat (if you don't know how, search for it).
4) Launch Overcharged 2.0 from this .bat file by double-clicking it, just like any other shortcut or application.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RUNNING OVERCHARGED 2.0 ON STEAM:
Requires HL2, EP1, EP2, Lost Coast, and Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed on Steam with "Upcoming" enabled in the BETA VERSIONS properties.
