Your mind is using you. You are unconsciously identified with it, so you don't even know that you are its slave. It's almost as if you were possessed without knowing it, and so you take the possessing entity to be yourself. The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not the possessing entity - the thinker. Knowing this enables you to observe the entity. The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter - beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace - arise from beyond the mind. You begin to awaken.

Living in the present moment is key to achieving inner peace and spiritual enlightenment. By focusing intensely on the Now, we can create a gap in our stream of thoughts and draw our consciousness away from constant mind activity. This state of presence is the essence of meditation.

Being is the eternal, ever-present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life subject to birth and death. Awareness of Being is enlightenment, which can be simply defined as "the end of suffering". The feeling of one's own presence is not a thought but arises from beyond the mind.

Excessive thinking and ego identification are problematic. Identification with the mind causes compulsive thinking, which can be seen as a "dreadful affliction". The ego creates a false, mind-made self that casts a shadow of fear and suffering. Compulsive thinking leads to a state of apparent separateness and continuous conflict.
Inner body awareness is a powerful way to stay present. Feeling the body from within anchors you in the Now. The inner body is timeless and serves as a doorway into Being. Body awareness can lead to a new way of living with a permanent connectedness to Being.

Liberation comes from disidentifying from the mind and thoughts. Ending the "illusion of time" is key to spiritual awakening. Observing the mind creates a witnessing presence that is not trapped in thought patterns. Enlightenment is a state of connectedness with something immeasurable and indestructible. It involves finding your true nature beyond name and form. It's a state of wholeness and being "at one" with life in all its aspects.

By practicing these principles, one can achieve a profound transformation of consciousness, leading to a life of greater peace, joy, and fulfillment.
