The rich earth of this mysterious and sacred landscape is the starting point for this class–the brilliant geological formations, the earth’s clay, the yucca paintbrush. After thanking the earth and gathering the clay, you will learn how to prepare it and coil it into pots, then fire your pots in ways traditional to the Pueblo potter. Join in the rare opportunity to experience the potter’s relationship to the earth, which is rooted in the respect and honoring, and carry the earth of northern New Mexico back to your homes as micaceous pots.
